I start with people.

Ask questions. Understand what's happening. See what's missing and what's possible. Connect what belongs together. Build the relationships, capacity, and structure that help people do what they do best. Keep listening, learning, and adjusting as I go.

I pay attention to the whole, and to the people inside it. I say what I actually think, with room for being wrong. And I want the work to leave people, organizations, and communities stronger than it found them.

I want both the people doing the work and the people the work is meant to serve to feel seen, heard, valued, and respected.
